Multi-channel Driver MD732 for deformable mirrors.
MD732 is a complete piezo driver intended for use with multi-channel deformable mirror with piezo-ceramic actuators.
The block is constructed with use of amplifiers HVA-1 or HVA-2, which define final performance of the block. MD732 has all necessary power supply and connectors for plugging to an external analogue source. It also gives the possibility to access the internal control bus via USB or high speed USART port.
The modular design of the block allows easily to modify it in respect of user needs. Thanks to an opportunity to configure channels individually, it can be connected to different mirrors simultaneously that allows creating very complex adaptive systems with a single unified control.

Software - The above units are delivered with a specialized software which can be run on PCs. We use specialized protocol Device Connect (DC) which allows multiple completely different devices to be operated simultaneously.
The Software is delivered on a compact disc, which comes with the unit, running under Windows XP or Windows 7. The Software consists of two packages: “SetupDC” and “SetupMD”.
The package “SetupDC” contains a set of programs supporting hardware-software protocol DC. The protocol DC functions in the physical network connecting channel amplifiers and their power supply. A USB-controller is used for communication with the PC and is part of the Multichannel Driver.
The set of programs supporting the protocol includes a USB DC driver, the “DCServer” and “DCClient” programs.
The USB driver provides data transfer via USB and it is initiated by the “DCServer” program. “DCServer” is designed to work with USB and the user’s client programs. “DCServer” is a DCOM application that runs as a service. The “DCServer” provides simultaneous operation of multiple user programs, and can be configured for serving a number of products, including physically different devices. The “DCServer” uses a IDCMsgExt interface.
The DCClient eases the connection between the DCServer and User programs. It is performing buffering and batching of incoming and outgoing messages, thereby isolating the user program from the delays associated with the data exchange. It runs as in-process server in the context of user program. It has a number of supportive functions for creating messages.
The SetupMD package contains a MD731 program. The MD731 program is used to switch on/off the device, control its functionality, check input and output voltages, demonstrate the capabilities of the products based on DC protocol.
